How to Use the Dubai Metro Timetable

Select Your Line & Direction

Choose your metro line and direction of travel from the tabs at the top. This will show you the correct schedule for your specific route, such as “Red Line → Expo 2020”.

Choose Your Day of Travel

Select the day you plan to travel using the day-filter buttons (e.g., Mon–Thu, Friday). Metro operating hours and train frequencies change on different days of the week.

Find Your Station Time

Key station times are shown by default. For other stations, simply type the station name into the search bar to instantly filter the table and view its first and last train schedule.

Dubai Metro Weekly Schedule

The Dubai Metro runs seven days a week, and the great news is that both the Red and Green Lines follow the same schedule. This makes it incredibly simple to plan your trips without worrying about different timings for each line.

Here are the standard operating hours for the Dubai Metro:

  • Monday to Thursday: 5:00 AM to 12:00 AM (Midnight)
  • Friday: 5:00 AM to 1:00 AM (The next day)
  • Saturday: 5:00 AM to 12:00 AM (Midnight)
  • Sunday: 8:00 AM to 12:00 AM (Midnight)

It’s easy to see that the metro accommodates early starters and stays open later on Fridays for your weekend plans.

First and Last Dubai Metro Train Timings

When planning your trip, especially late at night, it’s important to understand what the closing times mean. The times listed above are when the metro system closes down, not when the last train departs from its starting station.

For example, if you need to travel the full length of the Red Line from Expo 2020 to Centrepoint, the last train leaves well before midnight to complete its journey. To be safe, you should plan to be at the station at least 30-45 minutes before the closing time if you have a long ride ahead.

Similarly, the “first train” timings refer to the first departures from a few key stations. These include:

  • Red Line: Centrepoint, Al Rigga, Emirates Towers, equiti, and DMCC.
  • Green Line: Etisalat, Stadium, Union, and BurJuman.

If you’re at another station, your first train will arrive a few minutes after the official start time.

Dubai Metro Special Timings and Public Holidays

One of the great things about the Dubai Metro is that its hours often get extended during public holidays and major city events. So, whether it’s Eid, New Year’s Eve, or National Day, you can usually count on the metro to run later into the night.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announces these changes close to the date, so it’s always a good idea to double-check. For the most accurate and up-to-the-minute information, be sure to consult the official RTA website or use the S’hail app on your phone.

A Quick Look at Dubai Tram Timings

If your journey takes you to Dubai Marina, JBR, or Palm Jumeirah, you might want to use the Dubai Tram. It connects with the Dubai Metro at the DMCC and Sobha Realty stations and has slightly different timings.

Here are the Dubai Tram operating hours:

  • Monday to Saturday: 6:00 AM to 1:00 AM (The next day)
  • Sunday: 9:00 AM to 1:00 AM (The next day)

The tram is a smooth and scenic way to get around the marina district, arriving every 8-10 minutes.
