Abu Dhabi Distribution Company (ADDC) and Al Ain Distribution Company (AADC) divide residential utility consumption into two bands: Green Band (highly subsidized baseline consumption) and Red Band (higher usage exceeding the daily quota, billed at a higher cost-reflective tariff). Staying within the Green Band keeps electricity at 7.1 fils/kWh (nationals) or 27.6 fils/kWh (expats) and water at AED 2.22/m3 (nationals) or AED 8.49/m3 (expats).
Yes. Expatriates residing in Abu Dhabi are subject to the municipal housing fee of 5% of their annual tenancy contract value. The annual fee is divided into 12 equal monthly installments and itemized on your monthly ADDC/AADC electricity and water bill under Municipality Fees.
ADDC and AADC issue residential utility statements on a monthly billing cycle based on smart automated meter readings. Bills are delivered via SMS, registered email, and the official Abu Dhabi Mobility / TAMM smart portal.
Bills can be paid instantly through the TAMM government portal, the ADDC / AADC mobile app, online banking auto-debit, MBME payment kiosks located throughout shopping malls, and Apple Pay.
